Abstract

Background: Urolithiasis is a common urinary tract disease in the world. It occurs mainly on population who lived in limestone mining area or areas with high limed water. People who consume a lot of water with a high lime content result in predispose factor i.e. the formation of urolithiasis.Area of redisari is hills lime with high lime water in the last four years there are 31 people suffer with Urolithiasis. Objective:To determine the correlation between drinking habits and the incidence of urolithiasis in Redisari, Rowokele, Kebumen Methods:This study used a case control method withretrospective approach. Samples were 62taken by purposive sampling technique. Data were analyzed by using descriptive and correlative analysis by chi square test and logistic regression. Results: This study showed that there were significant correlation between both the amount of consumed water and source of consumed water, and the incidence of urolithiasis indicated by p-value(0.000) and (0.023) respectively. There was no significant correlation between the type of consumed water and the incidence of urolithiasisindicated by p value (0.554). The amount of consumedwater was the most correlated variable to theincidence of urolithiasis in Redisari, Rowokele, Kebumen with OR (Exp (B)) = 0.007. Value OR <1, therefore may reduce the risk. People who consume lots of water reduce the risk of urolithiasis.
